Application Engineer – Power to X / Fuel cells

To maintain market leadership in the new energy landscape, we are focusing on developing innovative products based on our fusion-bonded technology to support our customers development and business.
About the job
We offer an interesting job opportunity as Application engineer where you are the key technical expert and link between customers and our Research & Development organization. You will participate in customer meetings with our business developers where you identify customer needs and add know-how of Alfa Laval product offering, to provide the best technical solution.
You will also collect customer requirements and translate them into product specification to our development projects.
You will be based in Lund and report to the Research & Development Manager for Fuel Cells in Lund.
Key tasks:
• Support customers to optimise their system design by adding know-how of Alfa Laval product offering
• Propose and optimize Alfa Laval products by thermal sizing based on customer specifications
• Support customer finding the best solution for the interface between their system and Alfa Laval products
• Understand and translate customers' requirements into specifications for our development projects
• Organise and drive customer technical meetings, follow up on actions
• Initiate, coordinate, analyse and follow up on internal- and customer tests
• Coordinate customer's need of prototypes
• Support in quotation process
• Monitor trends and developments in Fuel cell/Power to X application by customer interactions
• Share application knowledge via internal and external trainings
Who are you?
We expect you to have at least 3 years of experience as an application engineer or a similar role. You have university or master's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or similar. Experience in heat transfer, thermal calculations or fuel cell application are appreciated.
As a person, you are creative with analytical skills and interested in new technology. You are clear in your communication and acting proactively to deliver in accordance to customer requirements.
