Application Engineer to Kollmorgen

About the position

As an Application Engineer you will be a part of our Services Department which support our partners in our solutions through onsite assistance and training. Your task as an Application Engineer will be to strengthen our ability to install, develop, and test automation solutions together with our customers. You will also be teaching and developing our e-learning offer together with our global organization. You will become an expert in the use of our products and have a wide network of contacts with our customers and internal stakeholders. Since we have customers all over the world, this position will involve traveling both abroad and domestic for periods up to three weeks.

What a working day can look like

Each day starts with a daily meeting to discuss the different task and processes that the team is working on. We will discuss the priority of different task and if we need any help with the specific task that is assigned to you.

As an Application Engineer no days look the same. We always have new customer questions or projects to dig into. I collaborate closely with our users to better understand their needs and to define a potential solution to those needs. Troubleshooting different issues like navigation, electrical wiring, or designed faults in customer projects is also something I spend time on daily.

Some days I might dedicate a full week on educating our customers on how to use our software, other days can be spent on testing new products that our Engineering Department has just released."

We are looking for you
.. who have a few years of working experience within engineering where you have gained skills relevant for this role, e.g., customer contacts and support.

In your day to day work you will continuously learn new things and we believe that you are a curious person who do not hesitate to ask questions when needed. You are motivated by challenges and problem solving which will be needed in order for you to be the perfect link between our customers, Engineering, and Product Management team.

As a person you are outgoing, structured, communicative, and you apply your knowledge in your daily work to continuously improve your performance. Further on, you prefer the mix of working independently as well as in a team - no two days are alike!

Must have
To be successful and thrive in this role we think that you have:

- A degree within electrical engineering, mechatronics or similar.

- At least 2-3 years of working experience within a relevant field.

- Good communication skills and are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Basic knowledge in any high-level programming language.

- A driving license B.

It is meritorious if you:

- Have knowledge in C#, C, C++, or PLC programming.

- Have experience of customer contacts in previous work.

- Speak other languages than English.

Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.

Additional information
Full-time employment. 📍 Based in Mölndal, Sweden. In this position, you will work mostly from the office but with some exceptional cases where you can work from home. We recruit based on our values and for us it is important that you continuously want do develop yourself together with us!
