Application Function Developer for Power System

You will be part of Substation Automation Products in Västerås.
We are responsible for development, marketing and sales as well as manufacturing of protection and control products for power generation, transmission and sub-transmission network applications. The unit?s product offer includes IED:s in the Relion 670/650 series as well as the COMBIFLEX family. The unit also offers services, for example education that enables the customers to obtain maximal benefit from their investment in ABB?s protection and control solutions.

At ABB?s global protection and control center for transmission applications we are looking for a motivated engineer who wants to become part of our experienced team and continue the development of our protection and control functions.
You task is to develop application functions for protection, monitoring and control of power system equipment i.e. line, generator, busbar, transformer, etc.

The responsibility of application function developer includes design, develop, maintain, verify and validate protection and control functions.
Together with the team you will be a key player to enhance the quality of ABB's high tech product series.

You will also have the chance to put your mark on our future processes and prepare for international positions within ABB?s product development, which includes locations in Sweden, India, Switzerland and Finland.

You hold a Master?s degree or PHD education in electrical engineering or equivalent and it is advantaged if you are experienced and have been working with power system protection and control. Further requirement is sufficient knowledge in Matlab, Simulink and C-programming.
Furthermore, you need to be a good team worker as well as innovative, as you will have the responsibility to improve and develop new application functions together with other team members.
You are fluent in English and hopefully can Swedish.
You are eager to learn from our experienced staff at the same time as you will push our boundaries forward. Naturally, you are result-orientated and have a high sense of quality awareness. Adding to your degree and coordination skills it is a plus if you have knowledge in standards and standardization work, especially within IEC.
