Application Manager/Business Analyst

Business and Application Services (BAS) is the department within Group IT with the purpose to preserve, maintain and support Volvo Car Group´s total application portfolio in the most effective, robust and secure way as part of our application life cycle management responsibility. Manufacturing and Logistics (M&L) is the area within BAS which covers all logistics and and production control applications globally. The M&L applications portfolio is part of the factory "heart", ie what keeps the factory running. The department Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) systems Volvo Cars Torslanda, works with maintenance of logistic systems for car plants globally. We strive to support Volvo Car Group operations globally with flexible and competitive MP&L IT services, optimized for Volvo Car Group.
We are now looking for an Application manager/Business analyst with good business understanding and business acumen. The person should have experience from managing applications and experience from working as a business analyst on the border between IT and business units, it is also positive with experience from the automotive business. The person will also need to collaborate with other teams and functions globally to develop and maintain documented business requirements to be used throughout Volvo Cars. The position is a combination of three roles: Application Manager, Business Analyst and Project Manager for minor assignments, including test planning and supporting UAT
Main responsibilities
* Accountability for application functionality and service delivery to the related Business functions
* Manage and prioritise the application change requests together with the Business
* Responsible for retaining knowledge within VCC about application functionality, application dependencies and related Business domain. As Subject Matter Expert for the application/domain concerned: Create and document good requirements specifications to the supplier together with Business, and validate designs and solutions.
* Control and follow-up activities and deliverables according to the sourcing contracts
* Lead and participate in investigations and pre-studies driven by needed changes (both from business and IT, Maintenance and New Development), as business analyst and/or as project manager and/or as test manager/lead
Required qualifications
* Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience, at least 5 years' experience within relevant field
* Prior experience in managing IT applications
* The ability to use, understand and interpret the best practice, policies and procedures to ensure adherence, to project framework
* Skilled in gathering business requirements from business processes to appropriate project framework documents
* Basic project and test management skills
* General knowledge of application architectural analysis and design is meritorious

* Self-motivated, innovative, with a strong driving force, result oriented
* Ability to define specific solutions within an abstract environment, structured and analytical
* Good organization and time management skills
* Good business acumen and communication skills . Flexible and open-minded
* Service oriented with a keen interest in the Business and applications concerned, acting as an IT partner in the Business operational development for both minor and major change initiatives.
* Enjoys working in a global organization
* Interest and drive to challenge traditional ways-of-working.
