Application Scientist - Indian Market

About the role
Bio-Works is looking to further strengthen its strategic position in Life Science by finding a motivated and service-minded colleague to be based in Sweden with a strategic focus providing application support towards the Indian market. This position may require up to 50% travel dependent on the needs of our customers and partners.

As a chromatographic resin expert, you will be managing vital relationships with users, where you will give support off-site or on-site. You will work collaboratively with a team of highly experienced scientists to give application-centric presentations, provide training, and assist customers with experimental setups, processes and scientific discussions. To succeed you must feel comfortable in a more technical sales-support role as well as in a laboratory practice heavy role. There is a good chance to career progress since Bio-Works is currently in an expanding phase.

What you will do day-to-day

- Support sales, which can include presentations and demonstrations
- Provide post sales application support and training
- Develop a strong, working knowledge of our resins and scientific applications. Knowledge of chromatography and resins will be key to successful customer relations
- Work closely with all teams to develop and maintain pre-sales and post-sales presentation and training material.
- Attend and present data at local tradeshows as requested
- Help with lead generation for both commercial and academic accounts
- Maintain excellent business relationships with our customers and partners


Qualifications you need to have

- MS in chemistry, molecular biology, or other relevant field of study
- Several years experience and working knowledge of liquid chromatography and purifications of diverse biomolecules
- Fluent in English and Hindi, or other major local language in India
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Must be able to express information in a clear and organized manner relevant to the intended audience
- Self-motivated, energetic, and team-oriented, with a results-driven approach to achieve goals


Qualifications we would like you to have

- PhD in chemistry, molecular biology, or any related scientific discipline
- 3+ years as an Application Scientist or similar customer facing role
- Strong understanding of Indian business culture
- Knowledge and experience from bioprocess scale purifications
- Experience with cross-functional, multicultural, and international teams.
- Column packing experience
- Expertise in analytical methods such as HPLC
- Knowledge of the Swedish language

- Willingness for as much as up to 50% overnight travel
- A driver’s license
