Arbetsbeskrivning
Company Description
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.
Job Description
Introduction
Are you interested in solving one of the most complicated computing problems related to the HL-LHC project? Seize this exciting opportunity to join an international team and contribute to cranking up the performance of the LHC in order to increase the potential for discoveries after 2027. Take part!
In the Experimental Physics Department (EP), ATLAS Data Processing Group (ADP), you will be a leading developer for the ACTS common tracking project and for the ATLAS Phase-2 software upgrade project. You will develop modern reconstruction software and novel algorithmic approaches to tackles the tracking challenges at the High Luminosity (HL) LHC. As part of this project you will investigate technologies to adapt the ATLAS software to exploit future processing technologies.
