Applied signal processing and data analysis engineer

Applied signal processing and data analysis engineer

Arbetsbeskrivning

Do you want to contribute to a digital sustainable transformation of business and society? Do you have a passion for electronics and sensors? Do you have industry experience and a solid competence in applied signal processing and data analysis for sensor systems? Would you like to work as a member of a team, using combined software and hardware skills, to develop working prototypes? Are you interested in establishing and nurturing customers relations? If you are a good listener, can think strategically and act operationally by identifying customers’ needs and contributing with new insights to solve them, then you might be the person we are looking for!

About us
To work within RISE Sensor Systems means to get the opportunity to address industrial and societal challenges through the development of innovative sensor solutions.

Thanks to the broad applicability of sensor systems, we work across several different business and innovation areas. Doing so, we have developed a variety of different advanced sensor systems, such as a magnetic position system for energy research in the study of fluidized beds, wearables for measuring health data, low-energy electronics for use in sensor applications powered by energy harvesting, fiber optic sensors in composites, and applications of machine learning. Several of the Sensor System projects can be found on www.ri.se We are a team where communication is important, and we spend time both in the office and the laboratory, because that is how we collaborate and get things done.

About the role
As a research and development engineer, your main tasks will be to develop software and hardware for signal processing. Typically, you will work closely with sensor researchers, electronics engineers, application experts and other signal processing experts. As part of the development team, you will decide the complexity of the solution and subsequently implement it into a suitable hardware platform. Some of the work will be very hands-on in the laboratory. You will participate in publicly financed projects as well as assignments from customers. You are expected to contribute to projects in close collaboration with industrial and academic partners. After getting to know the RISE organization and the new colleagues, it is possible to develop the work role. With a network of colleagues, you can create new collaborations and business opportunities with companies. Perhaps you will coordinate and lead some projects of different complexity.

Who are you?
You have a strong interest in applied signal processing and data analysis for sensor applications. You hold at least a Master of Science in a relevant field and five years’ experience from the industry. You are customer oriented and used to turn customer needs into value. You have experience of using Kalman filter, or some other estimator, to handle noisy multi signal situations. You have knowledge of hardware and software tools used for dead reckoning or inertial navigation such as MEMS, accelerometers, or micro-gyros. You have practical experience of either embedded software programming languages or different high-level programming languages. Experience of project management, machine learning and statistical analysis is a merit. Most important is that you enjoy learning new things and working in dynamic teams with multidisciplinary members. You are well organized, self-motivated and can divide your time between short-term and long-term projects. You have good communication and presentation skills. Professional working proficiency in English is required. Fluency in Swedish is considered a strong merit.

Are we right for each other?
We cannot promise you an easy task, but we can promise you dedicated colleagues and some truly engaging societal challenges to tackle. You will get to work in a dynamic environment offering professional and personal development opportunities. At RISE, we want you to succeed and feel good, because together with your colleagues you contribute to a sustainable future and to securing a leading position for our industry and research globally. RISE can give you the chance to make a real difference. Welcome to one of Europe’s leading Research Institutes and Innovation Partner.

We look forward to your application!
