About this opportunity
We are now looking for a Architect within the Technical Product Group (TPG) Common Information Layer (CIL) at PDU CBEV (in SA BOS). CIL uses a NoSQL database (Cassandra) and exists both as a virtualized and a containerized version. CIL is a critical component of BSS commercial offerings.
As an Architect you will be part of the CIL Domain Architecture Team (DAT) where you play a key role in working with studies that define the input for the development teams as well working closely with the teams throughout the development cycle. As a Architect you work together with the Chief Architect, Software Architect and Quality architect to ensure the software implementations are based on a balanced technical solution and consistent with the product technology roadmaps and strategies.
You need to be able to take lead and drive tasks (technical as well as mentor aspects) both towards the people within the TPG as well as towards the surrounding areas.
As our candidate you should be dedicated, service minded and enjoy working in team and have good social skills to interact and work within a multinational, multi-site multi-functional teams/program set-up. The ability to think creatively and take ownership end to end. You strive to meet targets and highest standards of quality and have the ability to analyze and tackle complex problems.

What you will do
Lead and participate in software implementations, ensuring code quality
Secure that design rules are followed
Secure & communicate system and design patterns to use
BUC/BSUC/CR/PBI studies and reviews
Participate in sprint demo and validate DoD and provide technical mentorship and mentor to developer teams
Stay up to date on technology trends within product domain
Daily interconnection with the DAT, Development and Test/release teams within CIL
Be ready to perform trouble shooting and take part in customer support
You will bring
At least 5 years of experience in software and product development
English proficiency, both written and spoken
High Customer focus with a high accountability for delivering a product that meets customer needs long term
High knowledge and experience with NoSQL database in cloud native environments
High knowledge and experience within Java and Python
High Knowledge in Software development environment and its tools, e.g.Git, Gerrit, Maven, Jenkins
Solid communication and presentation skills
Solid understanding of R&D, Lean and Agile principles
Solid experience in Cloud Native technologies
Good knowledge of and experience in CI/CD and software testing
