We collaborate through an agile and cross-functional setup including the departments R&D, Production, Sales & Marketing and Purchasing to develop the charging system and power distribution on our Battery Electrical Vehicles (BEV). You belong to the R&D organization and your task is to develop electrical components such as charging inlets, fuses, contactors etc. You will together with the team ensure that our current breaking concept is safe, reliable and delivers the right charging performance for our end customers.

Who we are

UECC – Charging Components, is a group responsible for the current breaking concept. We own and develop hardware components that are strongly linked to the charging user experience, such as fuses, contactors, actuators, charging inlets, HMI buttons and electronic control units. The group consist of design engineers, product owners and scrum masters.

About the role

As a Design Engineer you will have end to end responsibility, both developing new hardware components and improving existing components in customer operation. You will be responsible for:


• Setting requirement specifications for your components to secure the needs of customers, suppliers, production and aftermarket
• Verification and validation of the components
• Coordination of tests for example functional, environmental, electrical and life length tests
• Having close dialogue with our suppliers to discuss and understand the technical details of the design work
• Benchmark and analyse competitors with regards to your components
• Prepare reports and presentations, and effectively communicate your findings in various meetings and forums

Who you are

You are a dedicated team-player who thrive in a dynamic work environment. You are communicative and well-structured in your work. You find motivation in developing the best solutions in cooperation with others. You have an interest in technology and you navigate between details and context to find the optimal solution.

You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within engineering preferably within electrical engineering. Previous work experience within electrical engineering is a plus but not required. Scania’s company language is English, therefore the requirement is to have a professional level of English.
