Stockvik is one of the largest AkzoNobel-sites in Sweden, with 380 people working in three different business units: Pulp and Performance Chemicals, Surface Chemistry and Wood Finishes and Adhesives. We now have an immediate opening for an individual who can fulfil the role as HSE manager for Site Stockvik. The HSE-department reports to PPC but supports the whole site.
About the position
As a HSE Manager you will guide site management to develop and facilitate implementations of policies, year plan, local legislation, standards and best practice for the site. Along with site management you will act as a change agent for the HSE culture and continuous improvement and be a role model for ensuring compliance with HSE policys and procedures. This is a full time position reporting to the Site manager.
The main duties and responsibilities
- Develop policies and objectives for the assigned unit and contribute to the development of the strategy on a higher level.
- Ensure development, manage and ensure realization year plan/budget for the assigned unit, acquire approval, ensure and manage execution and deliver results.
- Ensure the site adheres to all local legislation and meets AN standards
- Evaluate organizational design, (work) processes and systems and initiate and implement changes and improvements.
- Keep up with internal and external developments and ensure development, transfer and retention of knowledge and information.
- Provide insights regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of periodical and ad hoc reports and/or analyses.
- Build and maintain a network of in- and external stakeholders/partners and represent the organization.
- Be accountable for contacts, correspondence and reporting to authorities.
- Define, plan, manage and co-ordinate assigned (portfolio of) projects and ensure execution and delivery.
- Lead the systematic delivery within the site of company HSE improvement programs, including SAQ, behavior based safety and process safety management programs
- People management and development: Attract, lead, coach, appraise and develop employees, ensure staffing and stimulate talent(management)
Job requirements
- University degree in Chemistry or other relevant area and have at least 5 years of relevant leadership experience within industry.
- Leadership experience with high engagement in your team.
- You have a solid HSE background and a broad work experience from the manufacturing in different functions.
- Knowledge of relevant Swedish legislation, for example work environment and labour law.
- Excellent skills in Swedish and English, writing and oral communication
- You drive for results, have a customer focus and value various perspective.
- You work for innovation and continuous improvement and demonstrate courage and integrity.
To be successful in this position you are a strong leader who appreciates the power of team work as well as individual performances. You are confident in your own expertise and a strong drive to deliver results while maintaining a high quality and safety standards. You have excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly set the direction as well as create winning teams and build your own network. You have experience from change management and enjoy being a manager in an environment of change.
