Area Engineer

To deliver the area work scope on time, within the agreed budget and to the agreed safety, duration and quality standards. The Area Engineer is responsible for all work in the area, and for event control systems such as Talks, Audits, Meetings, Resource numbers, priorities, E/N work, progress against plan, engineering standards, and handover of systems
· Ensure the scheduler produces a realistic, achievable plan for the area by carrying out specific activities such as validation of packs, check materials, identify peaks in workload and resources, and have a clear understanding of the workscope
· Validate any sub-contractor workscopes to ensure any clashes are mitigated
· Be fully conversant with the Safe Systems of Work document and have ownership of the requirements and procedures applicable to your area
· Be fully aware of the requirements of the Environmental risk assessment for the project and the impact it may have on your area.
· Prepare and deliver major job presentations as defined by Project Manager
· Ensure all workscopes have been tagged
· Carry out regular update meetings within the area team to ensure any issues are outlined and actioned to completion.
· Complete all prework
· Present an overview of your area workscope/team set up, & any risks to full delivery, at a management briefing.
· Arrange and lead a debriefing session for your area team to capture learning for next time.
