Job Description
As Area Lead Engineer Cloud & Data Center Engineering, you are passionate about creating fast, flexible and scalable cloud infrastructure tools and services. You will lead the development and required transformation of the Cloud & Data Center Area, delivering key enabling services to Business Tech. You will define and implement the strategy and roadmap for the Cloud & Data Center, thereby providing a core high-quality technology service to the H&M Group business. This includes scaling down and phasing out legacy technology over time, as well as re-engineering/transforming as necessary. Ensuring technology innovation and new feature development as necessary to drive business value will be among your key objectives. As Area Lead Engineer Cloud & Data Center, you have great leadership skills, and you believe in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust. You focus on value creation, growth and serving customers with ownership and accountability, delivering exceptional results for the customer and business. Some of your responsibilities will include:
Improve speed to market, as well as flexibility and scalability of Business Tech products by building and improving cloud service
Empower and enable Product Teams to deliver on the Cloud strategy by building modern, scalable and flexible cloud infrastructure tools and services to host and deploy their products
Accelerate the transition to Cloud and improve the maturity of Cloud services
Drive multi-cloud strategy
Reduce/de-commission data center footprint
Monitor vendors and market regularly for new software, hardware and best practices in Cloud
Responsible for overall Engineering and technology architecture definition and decisions in Cloud & Data Center, according to Enterprise Architecture guidelines
Manage stakeholders across Business Tech to align on KPIs, development priorities, feature requests etc.
Ensure that the area strategy and roadmap is aligned with Business Tech technology strategy and roadmap
Provide input to QBR on critical technology priorities that will enable continued product development and scaling
Lead, coach and develop members of the area, promoting best practice in technical architecture and continually benchmarking against industry standards



Qualifications
Proven advanced training in information technology, computer science or equivalent
8-12+ years of experience (showing upward trajectory and diverse experience across multiple teams) in engineering, software development or technology architecture, of which 5+ years leadership experience in building and engineering Cloud infrastructure;
5+ years experience in Azure & GCP Platform engineering and Kubernetes in multi-cloud set-ups
5+ years experience in legacy to Cloud transition approaches (such as, rehost, refactor, replace)
5+ years experience in Cloud Platform service automation, design engineering across (Azure and GCP)
Experience in implementing API/Microservices architectures and transforming legacy technology
Deep knowledge in modern architecture principles and distributed systems (e.g. API first, modular application design, microservices, test automation) and interest in the latest technology trends
Demonstrates a combination of a highly-technical engineering leader and effective relationship skills
Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to understand the complexity of H&M business and the role of foundational technology as an integrated part of the business
