What do we offer?
Commodity Body Structure is a section within Manufacturing Engineering. We develop and implement quality assured, flexible, and effective production systems in the Body shop plants. The section is working cross functionally & project oriented, supporting all Volvo Car Group´s Production Plants and car programs globally.

What do I, Area Leader Central, do.
I lead a cross functional team within the group Underbody that secures best process design possible by driving Manufacturing KPIs for an intended manufacturing plant within own commodity area and align global manufacturing processes and strategies.
Above this I:
* Secure project time plans and take actions when I see a related obstacle to achieve this
* Am product and process responsible in the commodity area from a manufacturing point of view
* Represents ME as well as the plants, in supporting MAL towards R&D
* Am responsible to drive the backlog for the commodity area towards the MAL
* Am responsible for securing all ME deliveries from my team to the car programs, eg DPA5, FMEA, Cost-calc etc
* Coach the teams and people in the team in all aspects of ways of working and mindsets
* Share Best practice and knowledge with my colleagues
* Have a business acumen mindset when decisions are taken within my area of responsibility
* Work to ensure transparency of our progress across the organization
* Work with Program managers, Manufacturing art leaders, Senior manufacturing engineers, Manufacturing engineers, Line management and other stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution alignment
* Encourage continuous improvement and collaboration across roles & areas
* Hold myself and others accountable to meet commitment and deliveries within the Car programs
* Am responsible for update status to Gateway/Milestone reports within area of responsibility up to FDJ
* Contribute to prepare and implement products and manufacturing processes globally both manual and automated.
Do you fit the profile?
If you have a M.Sc. in Production or Mechanical Engineering or corresponding professional experience that is meritorious.
Other attributes which we put value on is good interpersonal and collaboration skills as well as being enthusiastic and customer focused. We believe that you are engaged in your work and encourage people that you interact with. You have a strong willingness and ability to drive change and results. Ability to travel within and outside Europe is of big importance as this is part of the role.
You need to be fluent in English, written and spoken due to our global organisation set up.
