THE POSITION:
We are now looking for a Area Leader withing machining to Volvo Cars in Gothenburg, Torslanda. You will lead Volvo Cars engineering team in the early phases of machining of high pressure die casted parts, process development and equipment commissioning to infuse PFMEA/DFMEA (process failure mode and effect analysis/design failure mode and effect analysis) thinking and identify manufacturing risks associated with our proposed designs and procedures.
Responsibilities
Lead design and equipment integration between in house tools and external supplier equipment and lead RQF-process (request for quotation) towards contractors.Develop lean and efficient manufacturing processes.Manage equipment suppliers using Project Management best practice, keeping project within time and budget.Lead the subassembly and system level manufacturing line processes, oversee the design and assembly of tools, fixtures and automated assembly equipment.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
BS/MS Degree in Mechanical, Materials Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.Exceptional understanding of the interactions casting process and machining process conditions, manufacturing requirements on casted parts and best choice for machining of casted parts.3+ years of experience in machining process design, manufacturing engineering, equipment commissioning, robot programming and CNC-development.Ability and desire to travel.
