Area manager for Flight Data and Navigation

We need YOU to join us as area manager for Flight Data and Navigation within BU Gripen.

Your role

You will be responsible for the overall performance of the area. This includes for example responsibility for:

*

budget
*

developing and implementing strategies
*

operational targets and plans for the area and it's employees.
*

the capabilities, resources and engagement to deliver according to contracts & strategic plans

In addition to leading the area, you will join Aeronautical Navigation & Weapons management team and report to the Head of AN&W. As a member of the management team, we expect you to:

* participate in and contribute to developing the department
* bring to the table all of your skills, experiences and energy to support AN&W:s joint challenges and mission/vision.



The area works closely with our partners in Brazil, suppliers as well as departments within Saab and you will need to ensure good relations with these. You will act as the area´s voice towards a number of different stakeholder and make sure that the areas input is communicated and well understood.

Skills:

*

have as a minimum BSc degree in Engineering
*

have previous experience of management roles
*

have previous experience from system- and/or sw-development, preferably within safety critical systems.
*

be comfortable in communicating and to share information in a clear and easy way in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
*

be curious about others and how you can support them to grow.

It is favorable if you have previous experience of navigation- and landing-functions, have a pilot certificate or have experience of leading leaders..

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

The Flight Data and Navigation area is part of one of Aeronautics' development departments and approx. 40 fantastic employees divided into 4 sections. The area has overall responsibility for development, integration and verification of existing and future capabilities. This means i.a. system engineering integration (software & electronics), avionics integration), system safety and airworthiness. It is mainly S/W-implemented functions and a complex field with large interfaces to HMI and Decision support. Pilots always have something to say about our functions and hence close collaboration is essential. The culture in our department is shaped by joy, inclusion and a helping hand.
