Packet core in Business Area Digital Services (BDGS) develop and deliver packet core solution for mobile networks. With us at BDGS you’ll be part of the next step in development of our products. We enable millions of simultaneous connected mobile users while handling traffic from IoT to 4K video in Gbit speeds. Ericsson BDGS will become the partner of choice of Telecom operators using the latest technologies in cloud and automation to manage complexity so the ambitious can differentiate with TCO efficient solutions for programmable 4G and 5G networks, automated operations and digital engagements.
We are currently looking for an Area Product Owner (APO) in the area “Engineering Environment” in Packet Core.
The APO role is to maximize return of investment for their area by focusing on alignment, reusability and technology leadership for the area while translating business value into realization.
Engineering Environment is the area that includes development and test equipment used to develop the Packet Core product portfolio SGSN-MME, EPG, PCC, PCG, WMG, AAT and more. We are in a big transformation of the engineering environment from traditional local environments to new modern cloud based at the same time as our product portfolio is evolving. You will take part in leading this transformation and form our future for developers, infrastructure and tools.
We stand at the forefront of Agile software development, using methods and principles from Lean and Agile methodologies to create a product that excels. Early customer and stakeholder interactions are key elements in our development process. We rely on team collective responsibility to complete all tasks according to prioritized backlogs. One of your tasks is to set priorities according to business needs.

Responsibilities & Tasks
Give input to business decisions and product strategy for dedicated area to motivate investment as part of product business case
Ensure translation of business requirements to efficient infrastructure and tools development
Be the relation builder with stakeholders in product development
Drive roadmap and overall backlog for the area
Decide on priorities between specific areas
Dialog with stakeholders regarding area content, planning and strategies
Responsible for area transformation and long-term evolvement
Drive the strategy for the Engineering Environment in the shift to the new 5G Core product development
Ensure that major system improvements are prioritized
Guide, coach and support OPO’s
Be the contact point for new requests in the engineering environment
As an APO you are not responsible for any team(s) but drive the work through the OPO’s.
Qualifications:
High business understanding.
Deep understanding of the domain/area, ICT and SW development equipment.
Excellent communication skills.
Team player and good people skills.
Be able to take decisions.
3-5 years’ experience as an OPO/APO or similar.
Drive commitments with high energy
Furthermore, as our APO’s are one of the leaders in the organization and around the teams, it is important for you to have a high interest in people, processes and technologies.
