Buddy's retailer network is growing quickly. As such we're looking for a hungry and self-going Area Sales Manager to expand our B2B customer base. Your responsibilities will include finding new potential pet retailers, build long-term prosperous relationships with them, and drive positive brand awareness of Buddy.
To be successful in this role you should have proven experience from retail sales with strong results, able to deliver under pressure, and combine excellent communication skills with a strategic mindset. You will report directly to our COO.
You will be based in the field and spend 3-4 days per month at our HQ in Stockholm.
Previous experience from the pet food/care or FMCG is a must. Pet retail experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Own and hit/exceed sales targets. Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
- Actively seek out to new retailers and distributors through cold calling, networking, meetings, fairs and event representation, and social media
- Prepare and effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentation
- Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets
- Present sales, revenue and expense reports, and realistic forecasts to the management team
- Serve as the lead point of contact for customer account management matters
- Evaluate retailers, distributors and individual performance
- Ensure the availability of stock for sales, events and fairs
- Address potential problems and suggest prompt solutions
- Analyze regional market trends and discover new opportunities for growth
- Identify hiring needs, select and train new salespeople
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Sales Manager, Account- or Key Account Manager with strong results.
- Previous experience from the pet food/care or FMCG is a must. Pet retail experience is a plus.
- Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
- Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services - being able to position products against competitors
- Strong business sense and industry expertise
- Understanding of brick-and mortar store operations
- Familiarity with CRM software
- Ability to measure and analyze key performance indicators (ROI and KPIs)
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
- Availability to travel as needed
- Drivings license
- BA/BS degree or equivalent (a proven career within sales is most important)
- Love dogs
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in SWE and ENG. Other languages are a plus
