Join Hitachi ABB Power Grids and work with a dedicated team whose vision is a greener, smarter and stronger Power Grid. You will have a role with one leg in the transportation sector - helping the Swedish bus and truck operators to switch form diesel to electricity and the other leg being our renewables energy expert setting up international contracts with for example Africa’s largest solar park for the supply of the electrical infrastructure.
Grid Solution is a successful part of Grid and Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) unit with the clear target to expand in the transportation sector in Sweden with our charging solutions (e-Motion) and to grow on the global renewable energy market suppling electrical infrastructure. You will have a key role in the development and growth for the entire Swedish Grid Solutions unit.
We seek to be our client’s technology partner of choice for integrating their electrical infrastructure, be it a solar farm in Africa or a bus-depo in Sweden. As a system provider we know how to take the full responsibility integrating our client’s facilities with the power grid. We are coming from the traditional substation market where we made distribution and transmission substations and grids, today we leverage on that knowhow and the size of our company that gives us tools and possibilities that few others can match.
We are looking for a new team player to serve our customers and grow the sales towards the Swedish Transportation sector on the one hand and on the other hand help to develop Renewable energy leads and businesses internationally. There is a growing demand of electrifying busses, trucks and other vehicles and to do this sustainably the world also need to add more renewable energy to the energy system. In the Swedish Operating Unit (OU) in Västerås we have the aim to grow the business and being an important part of the PGGI strategy and now we want you to join our journey.
Your responsibilities
As Area Sales Manager, you will be working closely with other sales team members throughout the organization, located domestically as well as internationally around the world.
You will set marketing and sales plans for your areas of responsibility
Jointly with your colleagues in the region you will meet clients to market our offering and actively drive your sales pursuits.
You will identify the target price and the winning bidding strategy together with the global ABB sales and tendering organizations.
Your responsibility is to formulate a competitive bid strategy and with responsible tender manager make sure we deliver on the same.
You will derive a technical solution matching our customer requirements together with the engineering team.
There is a high level of responsibility where you need to take ownership of your opportunities and deliver according to deadlines, readiness to report to senior management from time to time is a must.
Administration and structure are important parts of the work.
The candidate must be open for some international travels in this position.
You will be the key player handling the internal Risk Review process when needed, keeping our opportunities updated in SalesForce and negotiate with internal and external clients and suppliers.
You will be engaged in creating good relationships internally as well as externally on a long term basis. The highlight of this job is to find the winning sales strategy, guide our tender managers and to finally help to negotiate and close deals with our clients.

Your background
You preferably have a degree in Engineering or other related field, a technical interest and possibly a business administration background.
Preferably you have tender or sales work background or experience in the technical field of vehicle charging.
As you will be working in a global environment, fluency in English, written and spoken alike is a must, whereas knowledge in Swedish/Spanish/French/Portuguese languages is a plus.
On a personal level, you are a self-motivated and reliable team player with an independent and result oriented working style, as well as strong communicative and collaborative skills.
You are good at building extensive networks internally as well as externally and like to negotiate.
You consider yourself to be an energetic, supportive and self-confident person who can handle both ups and downs and manage problems that may occur.
