How is your future team?
ASIC department is responsible for ASIC and FPGA design, verification, system engineering and contact towards external ASIC partners and IP providers. Large and differentiating IPs for our application are developed in-house. The more general parts of the SoC are developed in cooperation with external partners. We perform evaluation and are responsible for the selection of ASIC technologies, platform partners and IPs.

We have a long history of designing ASICs, the first ASIC was developed in the late 80s. We have developed a highly sophisticated ASIC development environment which is in many ways leading edge in the world. We file patents and publish papers and get invitations to present them at EDA and other conferences.

We are in the forefront of technology nodes and stretching performance and power requirements in our designs.

What you will do as ASIC System Engineer
This is an important role throughout the ASIC project and gives the opportunity to make impact on the next generation of ASICs. You will together with different teams discuss and decide on requirements in the early phases and follow-up of the same in the later phases. This work is done internally towards the internal Axis users and towards external partners, such as our ASIC vendor that develops parts of our SoC and manufactures the ASIC. You will work together with other ASIC system engineers and designers to facilitate discussions, capture requirements, drive reviews, review documentation and follow up the requirements. There might also be work towards external IP providers to capture requirements and help ASIC design and verification engineers figure out how to test the requirements properly, both pre-silicon and post-silicon.

Part of the requirements are coming from the Axis manufacturing side, such as environmental and manufacturing (like soldering and handling). The work could include cooperation with Axis operations and manufacturing to make sure Axis stays up to date with a reasonable set of requirements in this area.

The work also includes close cooperation with both software engineers and hardware engineers. There will be some traveling needed from time to time to visit ASIC vendors and IP partners.

You may also get involved in evaluation of the suitability for new product introductions on existing ASICs. As well as managing the SoC until End Of Life is reached.

We are several experienced System Engineers who cooperate together to manage the responsibility given to the team.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a highly motivated engineer who wants to make a difference. Suitable education would be Electrical, Computer or Physics science or similar and with some working experience from ASIC system design and setting and managing requirements.

Skills seen as a merit:

* Understanding of SoC architecture
* Structured and well skilled in documentation and especially documentation of requirements
* Understanding of what it involves making and selling an electronic product (e.g. camera)
* Good understanding of embedded systems and hardware/software interaction
* ASIC technologies, design, testing, and manufacturing
* Good presentation and communication skills in English
