Located in Gothenburg -Sweden.From 01-10-2007 our newly formed "Nordic & Baltic Sea and Russia Area" will start to function, meaning that all the Transport and Equipment activities (hereafter only referred to as "Intermodal") within this geographical area will be divided in to two functions.One Area Intermodal function and two Cluster Intermodal functions.The Clusters, one located in Gothenburg (Scandinavian Cluster) and the other in Moscow (Baltic Sea & Russia Cluster), will be responsible for the daily execution of the operational activities locally.For the Area Intermodal function we are looking for 4 "Area Intermodal Assistant Managers".The Area Assisting Intermodal Managers will be reporting to the Area Intermodal Manager, also located in Gothenburg -Sweden. This among other things means that you in conjunction with your team colleagues will be responsible for recommending and implementing cost saving opportunities, changes to our Intermodal products as well as develop and configure existing and new products throughout the Area.The team will also have ownership of the Intermodal procurement process and thereby ensure that cost leadership and product delivery is reflected in this process.Other main responsibilities to the position include: .Communicating and motivating in a friendly and professional manner..Manage supplier relationships and meet suppliers on a regularly basis..Manage internal relations with the Clusters, Centre Planning, and Western Operations Centre and meet same on a regularly basis..Strategically responsible for that cost control and tasks handled in the Clusters are done in accordance with Global as well as Area established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)..Assist in, and motivate the start up and finalizing of Intermodal related projects in the Clusters..Meeting area Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)..Traveling 3-5 days/month.The qualifications It is a prerequisite that the Candidate can take individual ownership in order for the team to successfully meet its objectives.Our company Values should at all time set the scene when taking decisions. Primarily the candidate has a broad knowledge and understanding of Liner Shipping business in general.Previous experience from land based Container Operation is preferred, but not a requirement.Knowledge of systems and work processes within the Intermodal department is seen as an advantage.In order to always deliver the best Intermodal product at all possible to our customers, the ability to take initiative and decisive decisions will also be needed.
