Biträdande Rektor / Assistant Principal IES Södertälje

This is an exciting role for a high-potential Assistant Principal to join an excellent school in a growing company. It is a highly visible leadership role with high expectations.

The Assistant Principal (Pastoral) leads the school forward on pastoral affairs. You will build upon and implement behavior and welfare systems in the school, enabling teachers to teach and students to learn. As part of the school leadership team you will work closely with the Principal and Academic Manager and have responsibility for the Student Care Teams, Heads of Years and for the school’s house system.

The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking leader and positive role model, with the ability to inspire both students and staff. They will enjoy autonomy and follow through on ideas. They will be a strong presence around the school, always visible.

The ideal candidate has teaching qualifications, a proven track record in pastoral support along with leadership experience. We feel that the right attitude is important, which is why we are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, focused and resilient to the day-to-day pressures that working in education can bring.

Internationella Engelska Skolan in Södertälje is a Swedish compulsory educational school, grades 4 to 9. The school is bilingual (Swedish and English) and about half of our excellent teachers and staff come from abroad, lending the school a strong international profile. The school opened in August 2017, growing into full capacity by academic year 2019/20 with three parallel classes in grades 4 to 9 comprising just over 560 students and 56 staff. We provide an international and stimulating environment, where commitment, professionalism and the English language are common denominators.

The school is located close to nature and operates in newly renovated buildings in Brunnsäng, northern Södertälje, 30km south of Stockholm. Our ambition is to be a high-end quality school in Södertälje for our students, for their parents and for our staff.
