Vice principal / Vice rektor åk 3-6

We are a primary school with 1260 students from year 3 to year 9. We are searching for a school leader who can help manage our Junior School.  Do you believe in a calm and safe learning environment in which teachers can teach and students learn? We are looking for a passionate and committed Vice Principal who wants to take on the task as responsible for the daily operation of the International English School (IES) Gävle year 3-6 Junior School.

For the position as Vice Principal, we are looking for a committed leader with high social competence who wants to play a central role in the work with the school's development. On behalf of the Principal, you will lead the daily activities regarding staff issues, the learning environment and academic quality.

You continuously meet different staff groups and are responsible for delegation and follow-up of projects and tasks. As Vice Principal, you work in collaboration with the student health team prevention and health promotion for student health and competence development. Furthermore, you support staff, work teams and guardians in student issues and pedagogical issues. You have a holistic perspective, think long-term and are confident of leading change, you stand up and take responsibility for decisions made. You are a clear communicator who guides staff and ensures that they follow the Education Act and the IES ethos.

In the role of Vice Principal, you are a key person in the work within data management and ensure through good routines that all handling of personal data takes place in accordance with the GDPR.

As Vice Principal, you are a member of the management team and have the responsibility for staff and recruitment. In collaboration with the Assistant Principal, year and subject managers and the student health team, you work to develop the school's student health work. You report to the Principal at the school. As Vice Principal, you are also responsible for the systematic quality work.

As a person, you are communicative, enterprising and goal-oriented. Furthermore, you are listening with a good ability to create and maintain good and trusting relationships with your employees.

Background and experiences:

Teacher's degree (or other relevant education)

Experience of ability for organizational development and leadership.

Pedagogical insight gained through work in primary school.

Good knowledge of the school's governing document.

Experience of working with various social actors such as authorities and municipalities.

You can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

Experience of management team work is an advantage.
