We follow the Swedish national curriculum with up to 50% of teaching carried out in English. Dina arbetsuppgifter / Your duties

The Assistant Principal will support the Principal with all their duties of the daily operations of leading a school. The role is highly flexible and you will work with pastoral and academic areas in the school supporting the students and teachers in F-5 during the day. You will work around pastoral affairs and student care / elevhälsa, building upon and implementing behaviour and welfare systems in the school. You will support teachers in the quality of education by analysing academic data like bedömningsstöd and national tests, working together with Heads of departments and Heads of years and being a visual leader around the school. As part of the school leadership team, you support the systematic quality work and the long time planning of the whole organisation F-9. You will work closely with the Principal and one more Assistant Principal and lead school development with the help of clear targets that we set together with our teams. At IES Skellefteå, we believe in the strength of teams. We have a broad middle management team that supports our teachers and students, and ensures communication and feedback are present in the school, and that all team members feel a part of the IES vision and mission. As a part of the school leadership team you will be a part of supporting the team members here at IES by building relationships with staff, students and parents. In your role as an Assistant Principal you will work closely with, lead and support the staff to guide them in the social and academic progress of our students.

You have the ability to engage and inspire both students and staff. You are flexible and adaptable to change, whilst focusing on outcomes. You have teaching qualifications, a proven track record of working with pastoral and academic processes, and leadership experience. Previous experience from having staffing responsibility is preferred but not necessary. If you have personal qualities such as enthusiastic, focused, resilient and solutions-oriented to the day-to-day pressures that working in education can bring, then you could be the right person for this position.
