Assistant Principal Academic

This is an exciting role for a motivated Assistant Principal to join an excellent school in a growing company. It is a highly visible leadership role with high expectations.

IES schools have a dynamic international atmosphere with staff and students from all over the world. IES Landskrona is a school for grades F – 9 with nearly 600 students and 65 staff. We follow the Swedish national curriculum with up to 50% of teaching in English. We are a school with a clear structure that enables teachers to focus on teaching and where students know what is expected of them. Our values ​​are based on the fact that we believe in the student´s abilities and potential, we always put learning and knowledge first.  The school is bilingual (Swedish and English) and about half of our outstanding teachers and staff come from abroad, lending the school a strong international profile. We provide an international and stimulating environment, where commitment, professionalism, tough love and the English language are common denominators.   

The role

The Assistant Principal will lead the school forward on academic affairs. As part of the school leadership team you will work closely with the Principal and AP/Pastoral Manager and lead school development through targets. In your role as a Assistant Principal you will work close and support the staff placed in grades F-3 and Fritidshem, main work is to support them in social and academic work with students.

Who are you?

You are a visible role model with a strong presence in the daily life of the school. You have the ability to engage and inspire both students and staff. You are flexible and adaptable to change, whilst focusing on outcomes. You have teaching qualifications, a proven track record in student care, academic and pastoral support combined with leadership experience. Good knowledge in a Swedish curriculum is required and proven track record in having a performance and developments talk is highly preferred. If you have skills as enthusiastic, focused, resilient to the day-to-day pressures that working in education can bring then you are the right person for this work.
