Assistant Principal / Biträdande Rektor 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to join the leadership team at IES Länna as its Assistant Principal for Senior School. We are looking for an innovative, adaptable and student-focused individual who can help to establish, build and lead in a school within an established and growing educational provider.  

Internationella Engelska Skolan is a truly international school. We have staff and students from all over the world contributing to a dynamic international atmosphere. Our schools are bilingual (Swedish and English) and follow the Swedish national curriculum.

IES Länna opened in August of 2018 with 410 students in grades 4-8. We have grown gradually and now have 570 students in grades 4-9. In August 2021 we will expand with 2 additional classes in Year 3. Our school is very community-centered, and we focus on building a climate based on our four core values: respect, honesty, hard work and safety. All people in our school--students, staff and parents--are expected to work with these values daily.

The Role

The Assistant Principal will lead the school in the area of academics with a special focus on student care. You will have focus on the students and staff in Years 6-9. As part of the school leadership team you will work closely with the principal and the rest of the leadership team and you will be responsible for the student care team. You will be fully responsible for all aspects of student health and well-being.

You are a visible role model with a strong presence in the daily life of the school. You have the ability to engage and inspire both students and staff and are adept at building relationships with people. You are flexible and adaptable to change, and can handle pressure on a daily basis. You will be fair and consistent and be able to balance tough love with praise. You will have a strong passion for children and education and for helping them find their place in the world. You will want to inspire them to have the fundamental values of kindness and respect for each other and for our planet. 

You have teaching qualifications, a knowledge of Internationella Engelska Skolan and leadership experience.
