Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences Faculty of Landscape Planning, Horticulture and Agricultural Science, Alnarp Assistant professor in plant breeding and biotechnology SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) is a nation-wide University.Research and teaching activities are carried out throughout the country.The main campuses are located at Alnarp, Skara, Ultuna and Umeå.At the faculty of landscape planning, horticulture and agricultural science there are 8 divisions.Plant breeding and biotechnology is one of them.Within the division of plant breeding and biotechnology, research is undertaken in both agricultural and horticultural crops.Unique for the area is the strong connection between biotechnology and applied plant breeding.The main areas are domestication of new crops, resistance breeding, gene technology to obtain high yield producing oil crops and to improve rooting ability and other characteristics in vegetatively propagated plants. Required qualifications: Since the division will strengthen the direction towards molecular plant breeding we are particularly interested in a candidate with good competence in new molecular methods and a solid background in biotechnology and molecular biology.Experience in fund raising and to conduct research project will be of priority as well having had a post doc.position within biotechnology.The position also includes responsibility for certain teaching and guidance of PhD students. The applicants should have a PhD degree in Biology directed to molecular biology.Priority will be given to those applicants who were awarded a PhD degree no longer than five years before the application deadline.
