Assistant professor in the field of printable solar cells Reference number 311-368-09 The Department of Physics has a staff of approximately 90 people.Among them are 12 professors, 28 lecturers, 10 technical/administrative staff, and about 40 PhD students and post docs.The department is involved in undergraduate and graduate education and research.Strong research areas include organic electronics, photonics, condensed matter physics, and several branches of theoretical physics.We are now accepting applications for a position as assistant professor in the field of printable solar cells.The new research program has received funding for the salary costs of the successful applicant and two PhD students for five years.The opportunities for additional start-up funding in the range EUR500,000 - 1000,000 are considered good.The successful applicant is expected to have documented experience in at least one of the two following research areas: (i) printing of electronic devices, (ii) fabrication and characterization of potentially printable energy conversion devices, such as organic solar cells.The research is expected to be carried out in close collaboration with existing activities within organic electronics (see, e.g., www.phys.umu.se/opeg), and the new activity will also participate in and create internal and external collaborations.An important task is to raise support from external funding agencies, and it is further desirable if the new activity can develop so that it can be incorporated in joint projects with industry.Candidates for this position should have a PhD degree or equivalent, preferably not more than five years old.When evaluating the applicants, particular emphasis will be put on scientific skills.Pedagogical and administrative skills, and the ability to collaborate with other researchers and industry will also be considered in the evaluation.The application can be submitted either electronically or in paper form and should contain the following items. * A curriculum vitae, * Copies of degree certificates, * A statement of previous research achievements and teaching merits, * A publication list, * Reprints/copies of selected publications, numbered according to the publication list, * A research plan (maximum 4 pages), * A list of persons (with contact details) willing to provide oral or written recommendations.If the application is in paper form, all items above must be submitted in two copies.Note that in order to be considered, applications must include copies of the selected publications.
