Assistant professor (forskarassistent) in embedded systems

The EIS architecture group at EISLAB performs research on design methodologies, tools and realizations of Embedded Internet Systems.Key to our research is the concept of reactivity; reactivity in the sense that a system reacts to events, either internal to the system or caused by its environment. This is manifested through the modeling paradigm of Timber with the ultimate goal of low-power, robust, scalable, distributed systems, with formally established real-time properties. The reactive approach is applied throughout the system design, all the way from protocols for service discovery, Internet Protocol based communication, down to analog and digital sensor interfaces.

Research topic
Software engineering for resource-constrained systems is central to EIS architecture research at EISLAB.Focus of research is on formal methods for reasoning on various properties of such systems.Examples thereof are: execution time analysis, memory requirement analysis, schedulability analysis and so forth.Research span theory, methodology and tools to aid the design process of EIS systems.

Work tasks
The duty of the assistant professor includes developing, leading, planning and advising of the research program. Also, a certain level of teaching is expected as well as cooperation with other parts of the University and national and international research centers.Cooperation with indutrial partners, both regional, national and international is also important. The assistant professor should also work actively with external funding, and in general contribute to the development of the division, department and University.
