Arbetsbeskrivning
The Division of Microwave Electronics Laboratory at Chalmers invites applications flr an Assistant Profesosr in Mixed Signal MMIC-design (Multifunction low noise millimeterwave).
Information about the division
At the Microwave Electronics Laboratory, we focus on application driven research on high speed electronic components, circuits and systems for future communication and remote sensing applications.
The research spans frequencies from below 1 GHz to 500 GHz. We demonstrate innovative microwave components and circuits in our own fabrication lab, the Nanofabrication Laboratory at MC2, or at external cooperation partners/foundries. We characterize our components and circuits in our state-of the-art measurement laboratory. Our research are funded mainly by SSF, VR, and KAW, and Vinnova. Recently we achieved substantial funding for another 5 years period for high speed communication. This enables us to participate in creating new components and systems for next generation communication systems including 5G for mobile communication, and high datarate communication over fibre. We work in close cooperation with leading companies in the field as well as other universities and institutes.
The details of other departmental research activities may be found at http://www.chalmers.se/en/departments/mc2/
Major responsibilities
Your primary duty as non-tenured assistant professor is to perform your own research, on circuit design, modeling and characterization based on novel semiconductor processes, with focus on high frequency silicon and III-V technologies, generally as a member of a research group, in close cooperation with external partners from industry and academy. The position also includes to supervise PhD-students to a certain extent. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large. The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.
Position summary
Full-time temporary employment for a maximum of four years. Progress will be assessed after two years. You are expected to achieve the scientific level oaf an associate professor within four years.
Qualifications
To qualify for the position of non-tenured assistant professor, you must have a doctoral degree in a relevant field; the degree should generally not be older than five years. Experience to manage research projects in close cooperation with external partners from industry and academy, to supervise PhD-students, and to conduct own research within the area of microwave electronics with focus on characterization and modelling of active microwave components is also qualifying.
Chalmers continuously strives to be an attractive employer. Equality and diversity are substantial foundations in all activities at Chalmers.
