Appointment programme and duties
An assistant professor’s duties comprise educational responsibilities, research, and administrative tasks. Regarding research the initial task of the assistant professor will be to contribute to an ongoing research project at the division (Nuclear Natures, Swedish Research Council), with a focus on social science and humanities perspectives on “nuclear natures”, and in particular the sub-project that focuses on nuclear natures in relation to a decommissioning nuclear power plant in Germany. In the longer term the appointee is expected to develop own projects and obtain external research funding. With respect to teaching the task will be to contribute to and in the longer term develop courses given at Tema – Technology and Social Change, at basic and advanced level.
Documented scientific skills in:
- conducting qualitative studies within one of the relevant fields for the position, such as history of technology, industrial history, environmental history, critical heritage studies, science and technology studies, human geography, human ecology, or related subjects are a requirement.
- conducting qualitative studies within empirical fields related to nuclear power, industrial decommissioning processes, industrial heritage or polluted landscapes are of particular merit.
Documented pedagogical skills:
-in teaching within subjects such as history of technology, industrial history, environmental history, critical heritage studies, science and technology studies, human geography, human ecology, or related subjects are of particular merit.
Documented proficiency in:
- English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement.
- German, both orally and in writing, is of particular merit.
- Swedish, both orally and in writing, is of merit.
