Assistant Professor of Pharmacometric Methodolog

Department of Pharmaceutical Bioscience, Division of Pharmacokinetics and Drug Therapy.
Duties: Duties comprise primarily teaching, research, and thesis supervision in the field of pharmacometry.Teaching is performed in the courses that the Division provides in the Pharmacy, Dispensing Pharmacy, and various engineering master's programs and primarily involves courses at the advanced level.The teaching also includes the development of new courses in pharmacometry and statistics at the basic level.
The focus of research activities must be on pharmacometry, with an emphasis on methodological issues.
Eligibility: Applicants are eligible for employment as assistant professor, under the Higher Education Ordinance, if they have completed a doctoral degree, or have the equivalent academic competence, and have completed training in higher education teaching, or acquired the equivalent knowledge in other ways and have demonstrated their skill in teaching.
Further, pursuant to the Uppsala University Hiring Ordinance, general eligibility for teaching posts includes the broad ability required to carry out fully the duties of the position.The ordinance also requires that for appointment as assistant professor applicants must have demonstrated the teaching ability required for the post and furthermore, except in special circumstances, must have completed a program of training relevant for teaching at the university level.Assessment of teaching ability targets the planning, execution, and evaluation of teaching and thesis supervision, as well as examination.Teaching skills must be well documented in such a way as to make it possible to assess their quality.
The ability to teach in Swedish and English is a requirement.The holder of the position is expected to be able to teach in Swedish within two years.
Any applicant who is offered a tenured position as assistant professor will be employed as a full professor instead if he or she makes such a request and is qualified for such a position.
Assessment criteria: In ranking applicants, equal weight will be given to academic competence and teaching skills.Holders of doctorates in pharmacometry or closely related fields.Experience from work at a pharmaceutical authority or company is valued positively.In assessing academic competence, qualifications in pharmacometry are given special weight.
