JIBS is recruiting Assistant Professors in Business Administration with one or a combination of specializations in Sustainability, Organization, and Strategy

We are seeking two candidates specialized in Sustainability in Business Administration or with an interdisciplinary background.

The first should be focused on purpose-driven organizations with a clear interest in managerial and collaborative strategies that support ecological and social goals, innovation, and societal transformation. The second candidate should be focused on environmental/ecological sustainability, decarbonization of the economy, biodiversity impacts and planetary boundaries.

For the position in Organization, we are looking for a candidate focused on topics such as organizational behaviour, organizational change, leadership, and human resource management.

For the position in Strategy, we are looking for a candidate focused on topics such as corporate strategy, strategy process, strategy practice, strategic change, international management, and project management.

Moreover, it can be possible to link one of the positions to a research Stipend (Browaldh stipendium) for a candidate having an international profile and a strong interest in conducting research in family business and/or ownership topics. The positions comprise of teaching, research, outreach, and service to JIBS. Teaching is performed primarily on campus, in English, and distributed over the academic year.

All faculty at JIBS are expected to do rigorous and relevant research, apply for externally funded research grants, as well as be engaged with business and society at large, to improve JIBS’ impact in the broader society. We are looking for applicants with a collegial attitude and a willingness to build not only their own CVs, but also contribute to the organization.

To be eligible for a position as an Assistant Professor at JIBS you must have been awarded a doctor’s degree in business administration or a closely related area from a reputable university and have relevant teaching experience. Applicants fulfilling JIBS criteria for Associate Professors are welcomed and will be considered for promotion to Associate Professor directly or following a promotion process.

It meritorious if you have:

- A strong fit with JIBS’ focus areas and research centers.
- A track record of highly ranked journal articles (AJG3 or above).
- A clearly developed research agenda aiming at top level outlets.
- A strong international profile and international research network.
- Substantial experience of work outside academia in roles relevant for the position.

In the selection process, we will put great value on your aptness to the organization, including flexibility, communication skills, quality awareness and ability to collaborate and build relationships. You should be willing and able to contribute to a dynamic academic environment, join one or more of the JIBS’ research centres, and be present at JIBS throughout the year.

The positions are full time (100%) and start at the earliest convenience. Collective agreements and individual salary setting are applicable.

Please describe your profile in relation to the specialization in one, or a combination of, organization, strategy, and sustainability, both in terms of research topics and teaching experience in the cover letter.

A successful applicant must also be able to position his/her present or aspired research orientation within JIBS focus areas. You are expected to outline in the cover letter and research agenda how they align with the focus areas of JIBS: entrepreneurship, ownership and renewal, and indicate how you will engage in one (or more) of the three research centres (i.e. CeFEO, CEnSE, and MMTC).

- CV.
- Attested certificates and diploma.
- A detailed pedagogic portfolio, including: pedagogic approach, courses taught, including specifications of extent, role, and level course evaluations.
- Your research agenda and a publication list stating AJG-level if applicable.
- Your five (5) most relevant scientific publications (uploaded in the system).
- Your Dissertation.
- Contact details to three (3) references.
