Assistant/Associate Professors in Business Administration

Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) is one of four schools within Jönköping University. The mission of JIBS is to advance the theory and practice of business, with a specific emphasis on Entrepreneurship, Ownership, and Renewal. Three simple principles guide what we do: International at Heart, Entrepreneurial in Mind and Responsible in Action.

JIBS is a double accredited Business School with EQUIS and AACSB accreditations. JIBS offers a range of Bachelor and Master Programs in Business Administration, Economics, and Informatics. JIBS has 85 faculty members and 14 operations staff, approximately 1.600 full-time students, including international exchange students. JIBS currently has 61 active PhD candidates.



JIBS is recruiting four Assistant/Associate Professors (Universitetslektorer) in Business Administration.

The demand for new competences is high in several areas: Accounting, Digital Business, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Management, Organization, Leadership, Marketing, Brand Management, Marketing Communication and Research Methods.

Working tasks
The positions comprise education activities (including teaching at Bachelor and Master level), research, and service to JIBS. Teaching is performed primarily in English, and distributed over the different parts of the academic year.

Besides teaching, the holder of the position must be able to position their present or aspired research orientation within JIBS focus areas (Entrepreneurship, Ownership and Renewal). All colleagues at JIBS are expected to do research, apply for externally funded research grants, as well as be engaged with business and society at large, to improve JIBS footprint in the broader society.  

JIBS is notably international in all that it does - more than half of its faculty are from outside Sweden and the working language is English. Teaching and research are dominated by a teambased approach.

Qualifications
The following qualifications are mandatory for all applicants:

- Doctoral degree in Business Administration or related fields, or equivalent academic competence. You may apply when a date is set for your final defense of the thesis.
- Proven experience of teaching in Business Administration amounting to at least one year full-time teaching.
- Pedagogical education or equivalent, as well as evidence of pedagogical skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and experience from team based teaching and research.

The following are considered as merits for the position:

- Track record of excellence in teaching within your specific focus area.
- Project leadership and collaboration in projects, including cooperation and interaction with business and society in large.
- Documented academic leadership (e.g. Programme coordinator, Director of Studies, Department head, Research project leader).
- Track record in research on the chosen profile, linking to JIBS’ overall focus on entrepreneurship, ownership and renewal, and international research collaboration.
- Documented experience of research grant applications.
- Verified language skills (beyond English)
