A fulltime position is available for 2 years at the Department of Rheumatology and Inflammation Research, Institute of Medicine, the Sahlgrenska academy.Admission as soon as possible.
The Department of Rheumatology and Inflammation Research is in the process of establishing its own flow cytometry based cell sorting facility and is now looking for a person to operate this.The operator will be part of a research environment that pursues a mixture of basic, translational and clinical research in rheumatology and related inflammatory processes.The main responsibility of the operator is to run the cell sorter to isolate cells for the various research groups within the department.The operator will be part of one of the research groups (Mårtensson's) and will have the possibility to pursue some research in that context.
This is a full time position where the operator will be in charge of the cell sorting services as well as being responsible for the maintenance and technical development of the cell sorting facility.The operator is also expected to act as a flow cytometry mentor and to provide technical advice and help with experimental set-ups.The daily work involves cell sorting, analysis and evaluation of data.The operator will have the possibility to actively take part in the research programme of the Mårtensson group.
Requirements: Relevant academic degree.Knowledge and hands on experience in flow cytometry is a requirement.Experience in cell sorting is a merit but not an absolute requirement (training will be provided).The position requires an organised, responsible person with the ability to interact and communicate with several research groups and individual scientists/students both within and outside of the department.
