Expansive Worlds is a creative division of Avalanche Studios Group and a leading developer and publisher of outdoor games. Since 2009, Expansive Worlds has been devoted to delivering highly immersive outdoor gaming experiences for millions of players and best known for the long-standing and successful theHunter franchise.
We’re on the lookout for a driven and sociable Associate Community Engagement Manager to join the Expansive Worlds marketing team in Stockholm, Sweden, working closely with our self-published titles - including theHunter Classic and theHunter: Call of the Wild.
Purpose
You’ll work alongside the marketing, support and development teams to ensure a clear and strong connection with our players. You use your deep understanding of our players to generate excitement, bring players together and foster a positive, inclusive and lasting community.
The Position
You are a student of your craft, the face of our company and our products, and the bridge of communication between the community and internal teams.
You’ll connect and engage with our core audience through a variety of channels and are an integral part of planning and executing community events and campaigns. You’ll adeptly balance an empathy for the community with an understanding of marketing and development goals to increase player sentiment, and improve upon community foundations on behalf of the brand.
The role will regularly liaise with our customer service team, ensuring they have the insights to perform their role and prioritizing the feedback they receive to better inform the dev team.
This is a highly dynamic industry, and that means you need to be well-organized, adaptable and willing to advocate for great ideas - be that from you, or the community. Each role comes with a lot of responsibility, freedom and autonomy - which we believe is key to growing our people and the business. This position reports to the Head of Marketing, Expansive Worlds.
Responsibilities
- Be the bridge to the community through regular interactions with them on our channels
- Assist and guide the community/forum moderators
- Be an advocate of a diverse and inclusive community, promoting positive conversation
- Support the Community Managers to plan, create and execute competitions, campaigns and events to drive community sentiment up
- Monitor and report on community sentiment
- Assist with social listening and engagement via social media platforms
- Increase player acquisition/retention/sales by using the tools available on each platform
Required
- Passionate about video games and their communities
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience moderating or managing video game communities and forums
- Strong organizational skills and time management skills
- Works well in a matrixed organization and is a team player
- Adaptable to change and flexible in approach
Desired
- 2+ years of experience managing a community in video games
- Previous experience from marketing within the video games or entertainment industry
- Professional experience managing video game communities
- Has experience of and is comfortable with public speaking
- Understanding of social media tools, sentiment reporting and social media analytics
- A degree in marketing or a related field
- An interest in outdoor pastimes is a bonus
