Export Control is defined as the set of laws, policies, and regulations that govern the export of sensitive items for a country or company. The role of the Export Control Function is to support and guide the Volvo Groups Business units in trade compliance related to transfer of information, commodities, technology, and software considered to be strategically important in the interest of national security, economic and foreign policy concerns.
Service Market Logistics is part of Group Trucks Operations. We are approximately 3,500 employees in over 40 locations globally and deliver world class operational excellence for our customers based on smart logistics solutions. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands and Joint Ventures. The scope for Service Market Logistics includes Flow Optimization, Inventory Management, Distribution Center operations, Customs, Trade and Export Control as well as the development of logistics solutions to ensure highest possible parts availability, delivery precision and quality globally. In Customs, Trade & Export Control we deliver services enabling international trade from classification of the product until the delivery of the product to the customer. Key Tasks
Together with internal stakeholders you will work cross-functionally to ensure compliance with export regulations. You will interact with various functions within the Volvo Group such as Group Compliance, Legal Departments, Sales divisions, Purchasing, Technology departments and Operations. Furthermore, you will support our operational team’s adherence to regulations and transactional blocks. In addition, you will also take an active part in our digitalization and automation journey.
The Export Control team is a global team with passionate and skilled colleagues with diverse backgrounds. Knowledge sharing, teamwork and openness are key characteristics in our team.
We are part of the Customs, Trade and Export Control function and we have a close co-operation with Group Legal and Compliance since export control is one of the pillars of Volvo Code of Conduct.
The role of the Associate Export Control Specialist is a great start for a career in a global company. It offers deep insights into the Volvo Group and will offer many opportunities to build networks and business knowledge. As the Associate Export Control Specialist, you should over time be able to:
Act as a center of expertise for export control related technical evaluations within the Volvo Group with focus on products and components
Drive investigations regarding product restrictions and secure Volvo Group standpoints in relation to the export control regulations (e.g. military and dual-use)
Secure efficient processes related to our field of work
Participate in identification of current and potential risks regarding export control in early stages of product development
Take an active role in task forces with representatives from various functions within the Volvo Group such as Legal Departments, Sales divisions, Technology departments and Operations on specific export control matters
Who are you?
We are looking for a person who enjoys networking, has a continuous improvement mindset and is confident and comfortable to drive and communicate across organizations. Our digitalization journey has started and we need you to support us on this journey so experience in working with e.g. BI-tools, data-management and automation is an asset.
Swedish and English is required, both verbally and written.
