What you'll do
In the digital Future retail and Assisted Shopping Cluster, we work in customer-centric product teams to build products that enable Volvo Cars Direct-to-Consumer vision together with our efficient Retail operations.
We are building up Volvo Cars' online sales capabilities and driving the shift towards a D2C business model. Our aim is clear – to provide customers with modern, flexible, and hassle-free ways to own a car, whether through a Care by Volvo subscription, lease, loan, or cash. By that, we are shaping the future of the automotive industry. With such high ambitions, Volvo Cars is undergoing a radical transformation in how we design, build, and improve our digital products and offers. Our Online Platform unit continues to grow and is looking for customer-obsessed, relentless individuals who can help us achieve our targets.
The product teams are mainly based out of Gothenburg or Stockholm, working in a global and fast-paced environment where collaboration across geography, operational disciplines and technology stacks needs to happen.
Additionally, we will give you the opportunity to work in an ever-changing agile way of working where you will be part of empowered product teams that strive for continuous learning and improvement as they build and operate the product the user needs. You will have competent colleagues in the same role with whom you daily can share and discuss experiences and problems.
Within the Future Retail and Assisted Sales cluster, you will work as Associate Product manager for a cross-functional team within Assisted Sales domain to build a ground-up Sales engagement product for our retail and internal sales staff. The product will be built in composable architecture i.e., a custom build front-end, with a backbone of API layer and backend systems. The product goal is to enable excellent collaboration between our Inside Sales and our retailers in the markets, to serve our customers in the best possible way.
You are a customer- and user-obsessed leader for your digital product area, and are accountable for its success. You have a passion for sales and possess solid knowledge of related business processes, additional experiences in the area of Customer Service are appreciated. You are driven to create best-in-class user experiences by advocating user research, experimentation, and taking a data-driven approach. We also believe that you have an entrepreneurial mindset that is motivated by commercial success.
The Online Direct Business is a key strategic growth area of Volvo Cars, and our ambitions are big. An important part of the role is therefore to enable continued growth within your product area by identifying the need of, and scaling up, new teams where needed.
To succeed, we believe that your background and skills include:
• Proven track record of successfully implementing new concepts or programs in a fast-paced, digital retail environment.
• Skilled at leading, influencing, and developing cross-functional matrixed teams to deliver against multi-track roadmaps successfully.
• Possess strong decision-making and prioritization skills with the ability to think end-to-end.
• Excellent communicator, you are used to interacting with a wide set of stakeholders and getting buy-in for your ideas and roadmaps.
What you'll bring
We believe that you have a relevant background in a product software development context, understanding customer needs and how to build fruitful Direct-to-consumer relationships.
Experience in Sales operations at scale is an advantage.
You are a person that has adopted a Lean-Agile mindset, applied servant leadership, has good communication skills, understands the Empowered product team concept, and can collaborate well with Volvo Cars internal stakeholders.
You have a BSc degree or higher (or similar) and experience of software development in roles like Product manager, software developer, data scientist, business analyst or an architect or equivalent for a minimum of 2 years.
We expect you to have a proven record of accomplishment when working with defining what makes a great user experience and communicating that to the development team. If you have experience working with and delivering to external customers, it is a great advantage.
