We hope that you will help us to build the sustainable companies and societies of the future.Since 1974, the research subject Human Work Sciences has conducted occupational research, postgraduate training and education in the technical and social science fields. Human Work Sciences is part of the division Humans and technology. Today, the division has 26 employees, of which eight are doctoral students on doctoral positions. In addition, four adjunct professors and four doctoral students with external employment are linked to the subject.

We are now looking for an Associate Professor with a focus on human-technology interaction to further strengthen research, education, and postgraduate education at Luleå University of Technology.

Duties
Welcome to us at Human Work Sciences! You will contribute to strengthen and develop the subject's research on work environments and the role of humans in the green and digital industrial transition in northern Sweden.

In your role as Associate Professor, you are expected to apply for research funding s well as lead and conduct your own research in a relevant field. We also want you to contribute with a new regional network, nationally and internationally. Your role also includes further developing and implementing educational initiatives, primarily within the university's new civilingenjör program Hållbar produktion but also within commissioned education, as well as acting as a supervisor for doctoral students and developing and leading postgraduate courses.

An important part of your duties will be to follow the subject's international development, be active within the research community, contribute to the research subject as well as the university's development work. We would like to see that you are interested and want to take an active role in management and administrative assignments.

Qualifications
Qualified for an appointment as Associate Professor are those who have demonstrated both research and teaching expertise. As much attention must be given to the assessment of teaching expertise as to the assessment of research expertise.
In order to meet the requirements for the appointment as associate professor, the applicants must:
- have demonstrated a research profile showing a clear progress after the completion of the doctoral thesis, and scientific contributions equivalent to at least two doctoral theses;
- have worked as an independent researcher via, for example,
• research-related commissions of trust as an external expert or a reviewer,
• experience of applying for and being granted, in competition, external funding for research and development projects,
• participation in national and/or international research projects, and publications together with researchers within research environments other than the applicant’s own environment.
- have experience of supervising doctoral students, and have been the assistant supervisor for at least one doctoral student for at least two years, unless there are special grounds to the contrary;
- have demonstrated teaching expertise;
- completed courses in higher education pedagogy corresponding to 7.5 credits or otherwise have acquired equivalent knowledge;
- have the ability to collaborate with the wider community demonstrated through, for example,
• dissemination of new knowledge to the wider community,
• incorporation of societal needs into research and/or education contexts.

- teaching expertise
- Other assessement criteria:
- the degree of such skill which is a requirement for eligibility
- ability to obtain external research and development funds
- skill in developing and leading activities and personnel within the university
- experience of leading assignments
- administrative skills that are important with regard to the content of the subject and the tasks included in the employment
- ability to collaborate with the surrounding society
- ability to inform about research and development work
- ability to teach in Swedish and English
- experience of teaching in human factors
- experience in pedagogical development
