Information about the research/the project/the department
The CSE department has around 90 faculty members and is shared between Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg. The research spans the whole spectrum, from theoretical underpinnings to applied systems development. There is extensive national and international collaboration with academia and industry all around the world. General information about the department is available at http://www.chalmers.se/cse/EN.

The Division of Software Technology (ST) has 14 permanent faculty members, 14 assistant professors and postdocs, a number of PhD students as well as research and teaching assistants. The ST division contributes to several BSc and MSc programmes.

We conduct successful research in functional programming, security and privacy, domain-specific languages, software testing, and formal methods, including automatic theorem-proving, contract analysis, and system, hardware and software verification.

The ST division has been very successful in attracting external funding from European and various Swedish funding agencies, both in basic and applied research. We have an excellent working environment, and are very active in international collaboration.

Major responsibilities
The post is a full time tenured appointment that includes conducting research and supervision of PhD students as well as teaching at all levels, from undergraduate to postgraduate. Administrative and management duties are also normally included. The holder should be able to collaborate with industrial, academic and governmental partners and also be capable of successfully applying for external research funding.

Position summary
The scientific area of this full-time permanent position is Software Technology, interpreted broadly. The successful candidate should be able to connect to one or more of our existing research groups; at the same time we welcome a broadening of our expertise.

Qualifications
The candidate should have an excellent track record in research, and a demonstrated ability to attract external funding, as well as documented proficiency in research supervision and teaching at university level. Leadership experience or experience of successful collaboration with industry and society is considered valuable.

The employment can be at different levels, depending on the candidate's experience. For employment as Associate professor, a qualification corresponding to the Swedish "docent" level is required (including at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education or corresponding expertise).

Master and graduate level education is in English; thus, fluency in English is required. BSc level teaching is mostly in Swedish, so ability to interact with students in Swedish is considered valuable. Chalmers offers Swedish courses.
