The Department is recruiting two Associate Professors. The positions are open to qualified applicants with research and teaching excellence in any areas broadly covered by the Department, within its four divisions: Computer and Network Systems, Computing Science, Data Science and AI, and Interaction Design & Software Engineering. We particularly welcome applicants who can contribute to new connections across the department, for example through the following crosscutting themes:
• Cybersecurity and privacy, including research connecting these topics to substantial areas of the department such as computer systems, cloud computing, human-computer interaction, software engineering, data science and AI.
• Machine learning, including software technology and engineering for ML, the intersection of ML and systems, compilation and hardware-software co-design for AI, cloud computing, AI in interaction design, ML for cybersecurity.

About the Department
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is a joint department at both Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg. Around 90 faculty members and 120 PhD students, hailing from around 40 different countries, are engaged in research and education across the full spectrum of computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, and interaction design, from foundations to applications. The department is organized into four academic divisions:
• Computer and Network Systems
• Computing Science
• Data Science and AI
• Interaction Design and Software Engineering

Major Responsibilities
The successful candidate will foster both independent and collaborative research in their chosen field, teach general and specialist courses at both bachelor’s and master’s level, attract research funding, supervise students at all academic levels, cooperate in exchange of knowledge and communication with external partners, and support our internal development work at the department.
Qualifications
Applicants have a doctoral degree in Computer science or Computer engineering, or a related field, and a well-documented record of research in the area, including experience in conducting and leading research as member of a group. Applicants should have a strong documented experience in relevant teaching and have expertise according to the recommendations of the Association of Swedish Higher Education. Applicants who currently do not formally meet these requirements may be employed for a permanent position under the condition that the required pedagogical training is completed within the first two years of employment. A clearly presented pedagogical portfolio will be an important part of your application.
The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English.
