The Department of Technology Management and Economics conducts prominent research within areas such as logistics, innovation, entrepreneurship, industrial marketing and quality sciences. The department consists of seven divisions and three research centres. Our research is linked to several of Chalmers Areas of Advance.
Information about the division
This position is at the Division of Management of Organizational Renewal and Entrepreneurship (MORE), part of the Department of Technology Management and Economics at Chalmers University of Technology. The research and education focus on strategic and organizational issues related to the management of innovation. The educational offer includes graduate and undergraduate education in the area of Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, R&D Management, New Business Creation and Project Management.

Major responsibilities
The position embraces being responsible for several courses on Project Management with a focus on innovative R&D settings. Courses are mainly on the Masters level. The position also includes supervising students in project work and master thesis work. As a senior lecturer you also participate in, develop and lead research on related research topics, supervising doctoral students and developing research grant applications.
The focus on innovation projects implies that the applicants should have knowledge and experience which is not limited to formal project management tools. Emphasize should be on leadership, organizational and social aspects of project management.
The position also comprises a responsibility for developing the department’s and the division’s education. The division is mainly involved in managing the Masters in Entrepreneurship and Business Design (EBD) as well as Management of Economics and Innovation (MEI), but we are also involved in education for other departments, providing courses on our subject areas. Most education is on the Masters level and is given in the English language.

Qualifications
To be qualified, the applicant must have a PhD degree in a relevant area, and substantial documented pedagogical experience, from both undergraduate and graduate education in the area of Project Management, preferably with a focus on the management of innovation projects. Since the didactic approach applied at the division entails substantial elements of experiential learning, documented experience of using and developing such pedagogy is highly valued. For this reason, we place a great deal of emphasis on your pedagogical portfolio.
The position also requires well-documented scientific skills, ambition and abilities to develop and lead research within the area of project management. A combination of merits in the areas of project management and leadership studies is highly valued.
The successful applicant particularly needs a well-documented ability to collaborate with industry, since much of the division’s research is carried out in close collaboration with industrial companies. Individual project manager experience from industrial settings is also a merit. The position requires personal characteristics such as independency and strong managerial and collaborative skills. International experience, from working abroad or being involved in international collaboration, is also a merit. Finally, we highly appreciate individuals with high social competence that can contribute to a stimulating working environment.
Regardless of the level, the position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English. If Swedish is not your native language, you must be able to teach in Swedish on undergraduate level after two years. Chalmers offers Swedish courses.
