The School of Information Technology
Halmstad University consists of four interdisciplinary Schools and the current position is located at the School of Information Technology (ITE). ITE is a multicultural school with around 130 employees from 20 different countries. It is a strong research and education environment, with focus on smart technology and its applications. Students and researchers are working with everything from AI and information driven care to autonomous vehicles, social robotics and digital design. ITE offers education on all levels, from undergraduate to PhD education, plus education for professional. An innovation centre for information driven care called Leap for Life is connected to ITE, as well as a collaboration arena for electronic development, Electronics Centre in Halmstad (ECH).

Appointment as associate senior lecturer is a qualifying appointment with the purpose to give the employee a possibility to promote to senior lecturer. Appointment as associate senior lecturer is for four years.
Description
Duties include interdisciplinary research in theoretical and experimental high-frequency electronics, teaching electronics at bachelor and master levels, and administration. The position and the research field are strongly linked to the University's Collaboration arena Electronics Centre in Halmstad (ECH).
In the research project funded by https://elliit.se/, the candidate shall build up a fundamental framework for information leakage through electromagnetic probing.
The recruited person will initially teach approximately 20% and do research 80%.
Finally, the recruited person is expected to participate in supervision of thesis projects for bachelor and master level students, as well as co-supervise PhD students.
Qualification
Scientific excellence:
- a doctoral degree or a degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree
- research achievements according to current national and international standards
- good level of scientific output (scope, originality, breadth, and impact on subject area)
Pedagogical skills:
- proven experience in planning, conducting, examining, and evaluating teaching
- good competence demonstrated by experience in teaching
- experience in supervising theses or dissertations
- experience in educational development work
The candidate should have a research profile and teaching experience in an area closely related to high-frequency electronics. Theoreticians, experimentalists, or a combination thereof are all valid options for the position. Essential is an ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary environments since ECH is run together with industrial partners.
Meritorious
Documented experience or training in leadership, administrative skills, and interactions with the surrounding community will be considered strong merits.
Desirable
Research with a clear link to one of the university's two profile areas, Health Innovation and Smart Cities and Communities, is desirable
For appointment as an associate senior lecturer, the following assessment criteria will be applied:
- Ability to conduct research of high international quality in the fields of applied electromagnetics, high-frequency electronics or related areas.
- Documented experience from research in collaboration with industrial partners and/or interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to conduct high-quality teaching and to develop courses at different levels
- Experience in supervision of master / PhD students
- Ability to attract external funding
- Dynamism, curiosity, independence, creativity and good teamwork
Salary
Salary is to be settled by negotiation. The application should include a statement of the salary level required by the candidate.
