One of the research areas within operation and maintenance engineering, which has shown a rapidly expanding growth with exciting potential, is the area of Predictive Maintenance (PdM). Within the PdM area, the focus has been on the analysis of signals and data using different tools like machine learning and signal processing. However, the need for physical models which can be used to generate synthetic data or to predict asset behaviors and degradation has become evident.
The next step in this development is to build the division's capability of handling Multiphysics models which can consider different physical aspects simultaneously. By combining this approach with advanced machine learning models, new research areas within PdM will emerge. To manage and tutor this student and to fill the gap in our current research projects related to this topic, an assistant lecturer is needed with the capability of both leading the research in this topic and developing courses within this area in combination with machine leraning.
