Atlas Antibodies is looking for a Research Scientist with expertise in immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Atlas Antibodies in Bromma, Stockholm is looking for a driven and experienced Research Scientist with high expertise within Immunohistochemistry (IHC) for the Research and Development department. The position will be a part of the Antibody Validation and Applications team. In your role as Research Scientist you will act as an expert within cell biology and mainly IHC for evaluation and annotation of antibody stainings across multiple human tissues. You will contribute to the in-house knowledge of IHC at Atlas Antibodies in terms of bringing high scientific value and continuously working towards improved efficiency and quality of the company products (antibodies for commercial use).
The Role
You will be part of a highly skilled Antibody Validation R&D team. The role has scientific focus, meaning you stay up to date on new technologies and further contribute to new ideas and improvements. You will also contribute to the development of the company products and applications. The position as a Research Scientist is expected to include about 50% laboratory work. You will also:
• Validate the company antibodies (poly- and monoclonal) with focus on IHC
• Develop the existing and potentially new antibody platforms used for protein detection
• Compile and report experimental results
• Design proof-of-concept studies within histochemistry and participate in problem solving
• Be responsible for design, preparation and performance of IHC analysis of tissue samples
• Present data and research results internally and externally.

Your profile
You have an PhD or equal working experience from the field of histology and cell biology. From your present roles you have gained experience, both theoretical and practical, from cell biology and histology, including microscopy, IHC and work with paraffin- embedded tissues. To succeed in this role, you have a broad knowledge of various tissues to be able to select relevant tissues for IHC antibody validation. In addition, you are fluent in English (verbal and written). As a person you are unpretentious with great social and communication skills.
Industrial Life Science experience is highly meritorious as well as Swedish language skills (verbal and written).
You have also the ability to manage both internal and external contacts in a structured and meticulous manner. You report your results with focus on scientific quality and with relevance.
