Who we are
Volvo Cars and Geely Auto are combining their powertrain operations into a standalone business focused on next-generation hybrid systems and internal combustion engines. 
To power the sustainable mobility of the future, a variety of energy sources will be needed. We plan to develop advanced, efficient powertrains for Volvo Cars, Geely Auto, Proton, Lotus, LEVC and Lynk & Co, as well as other OEMs.  Our high-performance solutions are already trusted all over the world. Today we power hundreds of thousands of vehicles across the globe. With facilities in China and Sweden, we expect to employ more than 10,000 employees across Manufacturing, R&D, Engineering, IT and other support functions.

What´s in it for you?
The Strategy & Concepts section works with bringing clarity to the strategic direction and proposing new ICE concepts by analyzing business needs, monitoring external activities and working closely with product owners in the R&D group. The section also drives Advanced Engineering projects and ICE attribute performance in industrialization programs. Organization wise we have two teams: “Complete Engine Performance” and “Complete Engine System- & Design Studies” and we are now looking for an Attribute leader with responsibility for local emissions within the Complete Engine performance team.

The position provides the opportunity to gain insight to the light-duty hybrid vehicle business segment in a team with exceptionally skilled engineers both from academic- and product development perspective. You will have direct influence on local emission strategy and the environmental footprint of our future hybrid powertrains.

What you´ll do
You will be responsible to determine emission targets and sign-off requirements for our future powertrains. You will be interacting continuously with key stakeholders, e.g. regulatory affairs, business planning and technical program managers. Developing analysis tools and competence within the exhaust aftertreatment system performance, will be a continuous part of your work.

We expect you to pay interest in, and stay updated in, engine attribute performance e.g. effective requirement/target setting, documentation/ IT tools and road mapping/ competitor activities. It is also important that you continuously strive to improve working processes incl. real time data transparency with respect to engine attribute performance.

You will take an active part in concept development by identifying dimensional requirements and technical solutions alternatives. You will gain insight to key competitiveness factors for future products, and with ownership of local emission performance support in determining the optimal balance between e.g. emissions, CO2 and power.

You and your skills
We believe you have at least Master degree within chemical engineering, Physics, or equivalent. Due to seniority of the position, we are looking for you who have at least 2 years or more working experience in automotive domain and product development knowledge.

You have deep knowledge of chemical reaction engineering and catalysis, and previous work experience within engine design, -modeling and -testing, engine calibration or general powertrain competence. You are fluent in English and possess a driver’s license “B”, valid in Sweden and you have the ability to travel if necessary.
