Attribute Leader - Ergonomics

The section Ergonomics at Volvo Cars is fully responsible for leading and developing the complete vehicle within the area and has a strong focus on customer needs. The challenge consists of developing, defining and communicating requirements that reflects expectations and needs of our future customer. The four main attribute areas in which we develop requirements and methods for simulation and virtual testing are seating comfort, visibility, Daily Life Usage and Occupant Accommodation and Roominess.
As Attribute Leader you will contribute and produce the deliveries of our attributes in all major car programs, but also guide designers and engineers to help them create solutions that fulfil our customer-driven ergonomic requirements. As a base for setting requirements you will secure relevant benchmark-data of other brands products and provide expertise regarding both human geometry of our global customers as well as knowledge about their environment and usage of our products.
Main responsibilities
* Perform attribute analysis on products (cars, systems, components)
* Specify the accurate attribute level with regards to the desired degree of customer satisfaction and competitiveness that fulfills targets
* Assess the complete vehicle as well as individual systems in the vehicle including interaction with other systems affecting the Ergonomics attribute areas
* Plan and conduct competitive analysis as basis for attribute requirements
* Monitor and evaluate competitor development of system solutions and their attributes
* Support engineering in their product development as expert of human bodies and behaviors
* Communicate the attribute status to project- and line management
* Verify that selected system solutions together have the ability to meet attribute requirement target levels at complete vehicle level
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. degree in Engineering, oriented towards Ergonomics or Product Design
* Knowledge of Teamcenter as well as experience from Volvo Car Group's common internal systems is meritorious but not mandatory
* Meritorious in this role is experience from work in automotive industry and work in vehicle programs, with experience from the field of ergonomics
* At least 3 years work experience mandatory
* Experience from work in teams as well as leading teams is mandatory
* Experience from other attribute areas in connection with Ergonomics, as HMI is meritorious
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken
* Driver´s license
Personal qualities
* Great communication- and argumentation skills
* A true self starter and a character of initiatives
* Good analytical skills
* Naturally and actively participate in the team's common matters and show sense for deliveries
* Capacity to lead a team - and experience from it
* Great willingness to cooperate as part of a team
