Audio Engineer

On behalf of our client, we are now looking for an Audio Engineer.

The Audio Engineer will work in an agile team together with SW Developers and DSP SW Developers to define the total signal chain and model it. Some parts of the signal chain will be 3rd party signal blocks, but the most of it will be designed by the Audio Engineer. The signal chain needs to fulfill the customer features requested.

The signal chain will be a high fidelity signal chain with state of the art technology including some features not yet available on the market. The model will be defined in Audio Weaver and the source code will be generated from Audio Weaver.

The Audio engineer will work closely together with DSP SW Developers to optimize it for the Qualcomm Hexagon DSP architecture. The signal chain will also be tuned and the Audio Engineer has the responsibility for this. Some tuning will be done together with customer. As an Audio engineer you will be responsible to interact with customer about the requested features in order to have the signal chain reflect these needs. Even if we are looking for Audio Engineer and DSP SW Developer, it does not mean that the Audio Engineer will be prevented to manage the integration of the source code on the embedded platform.

We see a close collaboration between Audio Engineer and DSP SW Developer throughout the project. As a member in our agile team, we expect a mindset to ask for help when needed and also to help other developers when needed. This is our foundation for knowledge sharing and team mindset. We believe in being better together.

In the team there will be SW technical leaders guiding in the overall architecture, Audio engineers responsible of the Audio signal chain definition, DSP engineers with the capability to bring all the signal chain into embedded code running on DSPs. Any experience from working with DSP code will also be beneficial even if the focus will be to develop SW for other cores than DSPs in this role.

Signal chain modelling in general and using Audio Weaver in specific

Automotive Audio solutions for different performance levels

Interact with the customer regarding audio features

Interact with 3rd party supplier regarding audio features

Perform tuning of the signal chains

Main skills profile:

Audio Weaver or similar modelling tools for Audio solutions

Agile ways of working

Pragmatic problem solver attitude.

Other appreciated skills:

Using CI/CD pipelines and if possible support the CI/CD Leader to implement improvements in the C/CD pipelines.
