Automation Engineer
Trident BMC (Trident Baltic Marine Callenberg) is an international provider of HVAC and Electrical Energy Management solutions for the maritime, offshore & energy markets. From bow to stern, bridge to engine room, on every type of vessel – new construction, modernization or repair – Trident deliver and develop creative solutions to complex challenges.
Trident BMC is now entering an expansive phase and we are searching for two qualified Automation Engineers for our Swedish office in Gothenburg. You will be located in our newly renovated office close to Lindholmen, but also get the opportunity to travel around the world.
As an Automation Engineer in our team, you will become an important part of interesting and inspiring projects in an international marine environment. Your working days will be varied, and your technical interest and knowledge will be expressed in projects within energy savings and marine HVAC projects.
We are looking for the right persons for us, which means you can have different backgrounds as long as our basic requirements are met. Either you graduated recently and are ready and curious to take a role where you can grow and develop every day, or you’re a Service Engineer today with a few years of experience and ready to take on a new role in your career.
Key responsibilities
Automation design of marine HVAC facilities
Electrical design (low voltage) in varied forms
PLC programming (structured text according to CodeSys)
HMI/SCADA programming
Work management in various projects
Commissioning of our supplied system / products
Possibility to eventually lead smaller projects by your own
Electrical installation on board ships can be included
To meet our customers needs, you must have
Academic degree in engineering, or similar equivalent working experience, preferably within the maritime sector
Fluency in English language
Knowledge in reading and understanding electrical design drawings
Good understanding in PLC trouble shooting and programming (CodeSys)
Understanding and possible experience of working in projects, preferably in the HVAC maritime sector
Understanding and experience within automation
Understanding and experience with FieldBus devices (in general Modbus)
A willingness to travel to various destinations around the world, which means up to 40-100 travel days per year
Meritorious
Experience in iFIX, SQL
Electrical installation work onboard ships
Experience of marine projects
Documented experience of automation
Being used to travel a lot for work
