Höganäs is the global thought leader in its industry and our ambition is to become the first green metal powder producer in the world. We are looking for an experienced and driven Automation Engineer who can join us on our journey of change and climate neutrality.
About the position
We are constantly striving towards further optimizing our processes for existing and future powders, to get as competitive powder as possible. The Electrical Engineering team is part of our Global Technology organization and consists of 15 highly dedicated colleagues with a lot of broad and specialized know-how in the field of automation and process control. Global Technology brings together our core competencies in process and equipment and supports the various facilities around the world.  

As an experienced Automation Engineer, your main focus will be working with the design of electrical and automation systems. You will follow the projects from feasibility studies to completion and handover of process lines. The work areas include project management, design of electrical drive systems and heating systems as well as instrumentation, process control systems, programming and commissioning.

Höganäs focuses on building process lines with high personal and process safety, meaning a part of the work includes design of SIL and PL classified process equipment.

The work will be performed at Höganäs’ production sites in Höganäs and Halmstad as well as at our sites around the world. Depending on what project you are involved in travelling will be required several days per year.

The position is a full-time permanent position located in Höganäs. You will be reporting to the Manager of Electrical Engineering.

Your profile
We are looking for you who have several years of experience in Automation, preferably from the process industry. Knowledge and experience in industrial IT systems and process control are a plus. Höganäs mainly use ABB 800xA as automation platform.

Suitable education is a Master of Science, Bachelor of Science, or an equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automation and Process Control.

As an experienced Automation Engineer, you are analytic and structured and have a genuine technical interest. You are a team player and possess a broad technical knowledge which you enjoy continuing to develop as well as sharing with others. Cooperation with the sites in Sweden as well as on an international level with suppliers and subsidiaries requires you to have excellent skills in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
