This position is based in Uppsala, where Thermo Fisher develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases. As a senior automation engineer you will be a part of the "Center of Excellence" at Thermo Fisher Scientific’s, ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD) team.
We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer that technically will lead, design and deliver automation to our operations.
The System & Automation Services team is responsible for life cycle management of critical systems and automation solutions within production, lab production and distribution. The team works side-by-side with other sections as IT, verification and maintenance teams. The section consists of 10 team members in total

What will you do?
You will be responsible for the technical scope and architecture. It can be for a specific area in a large project, like PLC or HMI. In a small project, it can be the complete scope, like technical set up for OEE

Overall PLC programming
Overall HMI programming
Equipment connectivity and data aggregation
Automation object life cycle management
What will you need?
To succeed in this role, you need to have experience in leading work and smaller projects related to automation.
You have a minimum of 5 years working experience from industrial automation, beneficial within life sciences. We work in a heavily regulated industry; it is, therefore, important that you are structured and good at documenting your work.
We are a large, international organization, so it's essential that you are comfortable working cross-functionally in a matrix environment and are comfortable in a regularly changing environment.
As a person, you should be someone who takes the initiative, works in a structured and independent manner, but is also a strong communicator and team-player, as much of your work will be carried out in teams.
